Times are in Eastern. Players without years are eligible for the NFL Draft. Years are when players are first eligible.

This is the first epic slate of games we have this season. Not only is it deep, not only is there a depth of great games, but we also have at least one elite game on top of it all. While most weeks this season on the schedule have left something to be desired, this weekend has it all: clashes of titans, darkhorse QB & RB battles, underperforming #1 prospects playing against each other, elite physical talents playing each other, and so much more.

After the quick Friday game, for Saturday we’re putting the big games up front with the other games down below. Not by a lot, but there are fewer games this week, and that will likely be something that happens in stronger weeks as the games to watch are more obvious and get a greater focus.

FRIDAY

UNLV @ Utah State on CBS Sports at 9:00 PM

Key Players: Ricky White, WR, UNLV ; Jalen Royals, WR, Utah State

Before the big fireworks on Saturday, a small, unheralded game on Friday Night could feature two NFL WRs with Day 2 potential. Over the last two games, Ricky White and Jalen Royals have combined for 39 Receptions, 585 Yards, and 6 TDs, or roughly 150 Yards and 1.5 TDs per game. These are also both players who put up over 1,000 yards in 2023. Playing in a minor division in this era where transferring is so easy comes at a cost to the profile, but these are two WRs at least worth keeping an eye on.

SATURDAY

BIG GAMES

Penn State @ USC on CBS at 3:30 PM

Key Players: Nicholas Singleton, RB, Penn State ; Kaytron Allen, RB, Penn State ; Drew Allar, QB, Penn State ; Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State ; Zachariah Branch, WR, USC (2026) ; Duce Robinson, WR, USC (2026) ; Ja’Kobi Lane, WR, USC (2026) ; Miller Moss, QB, USC

There have been encouraging signs for elite talents Drew Allar & Nicholas Singleton, but this is their first true test of the season. Not only can USC play some defense, but they offer the threat of scoring points that will potentially put Drew Allar in a position he has struggled in before against top teams. For Singleton, it will be interesting to see if the injury last week was precautionary, or if he is on any kind of limit this week. On the USC side of the ball, the clear top prospect on paper is WR Zachariah Branch, who was the top WR prospect on many HS lists in 2023 / for 2026, but Branch has yet to set himself apart. Still, USC has a good chance of adding to the 2026 class at WR between Branch, the receiving leader Ja’Kobi Lane, and perhaps the most physically gifted of the group Duce Robinson. Miller Moss has been hot-and-cold so far this season, so given his status as more of a fringe prospect, I see a player who is very likely to return to USC next year, so this year will be about improving within the system in preparation to make that run.

Texas @ Oklahoma on ABC at 3:30 PM

Key Players: Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas ; Arch Manning, QB, Texas (2026) ; Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas via Alabama ; Ryan Wingo, WR, Texas (2027) ; Gunnar Helm, TE, Texas ; Taylor Tatum, RB, Oklahoma (2027) ; Deion Burks, WR, Oklahoma via Purdue

This is a huge rivalry game, but it is by far the most one-sided match-up on the list today in terms of the talent we look for. Most likely Quinn Ewers will be the starter for this game making his return from injury, but should he be hurt or they need a back-up for any reason, Arch Manning is coming off an excellent performance against Mississippi State. Ewers will need to perform at a high level AND stay healthy the rest of the season to secure his desired draft stock. Perhaps the more likely 1st Round pick is WR Isaiah Bond, who seems to be growing in consensus as at least a top 50 pick for the NFL. For Oklahoma, the biggest potential area for near-NFL talent will be the WR room. Not only Deion Burks, but Andrel Anthony and Nic Anderson for Oklahoma also have NFL traits, but neither has yet been healthy this season. Taylor Tatum has flashed as the #1 HS RB on many lists, but he will not be eligible for the NFL until 2027, and has not seen truly significant work since Week 1.

GAME OF THE WEEK: Ohio State @ Oregon on NBC at 7:30 PM

Key Players: Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State ; TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State ; Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State ; Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State (2026) ; Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State (2027) ; Jordan James, RB, Oregon ; Evan Stewart, WR, Oregon ; Tez Johnson, WR, Oregon

Even among some very good games, this one likely stands alone. The only reason that it is not clearly alone is that for Oregon, the #1 prospect on paper coming into the season would have been Evan Stewart, but Stewart has been extremely disappointing this year, particularly outside of the Boise St. game. Tez Johnson has over 12 Targets per Game the last 3 Weeks, but his size and age likely limited his prospect ceiling, though to give the highest upside case, I likely would have said that about Zay Flowers at some point too. Jordan James is a tenacious runner who is very difficult to tackle for the first defender. And then we have Ohio State, the most talented WR/RB team in the country. Ohio State has 3 players currently in my SF 1-Round Mock, Emeka Egubka, Quinshon Judkins, and TreVeyon Henderson, and none of these three would be considered the player with the most talent or upside. Jeremiah Smith may not be the best WR in College Football today, but he may be one of the most advanced freshman prospects we’ve ever seen.

Ole Miss @ LSU on ABC at 7:30 PM

Key Players: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss ; Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss ; Antwane “Juice” Wells Jr., WR, Ole Miss via South Carolina ; Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU ; Caden Durham, RB, LSU (2027) ; Kyren Lacy, WR, LSU ; Mason Taylor, TE, LSU

The QB match-up in this game will obviously be central, as Jaxson Dart and Garrett Nussmeier are two popular dark horse candidates. Dart has graded better so far this season, though he has struggled a bit more against the tougher competition. Nussmeier is the player who is probably in a more translatable system and follows more prototypes, but both of these QB prospects are worth a close watch in this game. WR Tre Harris is questionable, but hopefully we will see him continue to make a high-end statistical impact. The LSU pass-catchers include Kyren Lacy and Mason Taylor, the latter of whom is a candidate to be my 2025 TE1. However, the most impressive Fantasy talent for LSU this year has been the freshman RB, Caden Durham. Durham has already fought his way to the top of the depth chart, and had 157 Yards on his first two touches in LSU’s last game against South Alabama, starting the game with a 71-Yd TD Reception before an 86-YD Rush (downed at the 1) on LSU’s second drive.

Kansas State @ Colorado on ESPN at 10:15 PM

Key Players: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado ; Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado ; Avery Johnson, QB, Kansas St. (2026) ; DJ Giddens, RB, Kansas St. ; Dylan Edwards, RB, Kansas St. via Colorado

Ohio State may be the only team with 3 players in my Superflex Mock, but Colorado sits as the other team at least potentially with two, as Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders both found themselves at least partially in my 1st Round this week. While Ashton Jeanty deserves substantial credit for what he has done so far this season, if we have a non-traditional Heisman, it should be Travis Hunter, as he is the most spectacular player in College Football playing both ways. Meanwhile, Dylan Edwards gets his possible revenge game opportunity against the team he first flashed for as a true freshman in 2023. The highest upside fantasy prospect in this game, even more than Hunter and Shedeur, could very well be QB Avery Johnson, though the likelihood of a translation to the NFL still seems fairly low. Still, Johnson is young enough to develop considerably, and shows explosive rushing ability.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

Stanford @ Notre Dame on NBC at 3:30 PM

Key Players: Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford ; Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame

The QB situation may hamper our ability to see anything in this game, but Notre Dame is the perfect team to play against for WRs given their secondary talent. This will be a tough test for Ayomanor, and a game to particularly watch on the All-22 this off-season. I’m not sure quite how highly I rank Jeremiyah Love yet, but there have not been many emerging 2026 RBs or WRs as of yet, and Love is one of these few who has set himself apart thus far.

OTHER GAMES

South Carolina @ Alabama on ABC at Noon

Key Players: Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama ; Justice Haynes, RB, Alabama (2026) ; Ryan Williams, WR, Alabama (2027) ; LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina (2026) ; Raheim “Rocket” Sanders, RB, South Carolina via Arkansas

Jalen Milroe looks to rebound his Heisman stock and maintain his draft stock against South Carolina.

Washington @ Iowa on FOX at Noon

Key Players: Jonah Coleman, RB, Washington via Arizona ; Denzel Boston, WR, Washington ; Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa ; Luke Lachey, TE, Iowa

A clash of two potential top 5 RBs in the 2025 class. Neither Coleman or Johnson have locked up anything near that top 5 yet, but they are both having strong seasons and should be considered candidates.

Florida @ Tennessee on ESPN at 7:00 PM

Key Players: D.J. Lagway, QB, Florida (2027) ; Eugene Wilson III, WR, Florida (2026) ; Nico Iamaleava, QB, Tennessee (2026) ; Dylan Sampson, RB, Tennessee

While Lagway is a package player, this game could feature two of the most physically gifted QBs in College Football between 2026’s Nico Iamaleava and 2027’s D.J. Lagway. Eugene Wilson III has not made his return to action from knee surgery, but he has returned to practice. This does say something about the class itself, but Eugene Wilson III is arguably the best combination of HS Prospect Status and Production that we have in the 2023 / 2026 class.

Gut Reaction SF Mock Draft

To keep things updated, I plan on releasing a Mock Draft with the Thursday show and discussing it on the Thursday show each week. In a couple of weeks after I go over my first big board, I will likely extend this to a two round mock.

Keep in mind this is a Superflex Mock. The asterisk is a consideration for Travis Hunter in those top couple picks.

  1. Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

  2. Luther Burden III*, WR, Missouri

  3. Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise St.

  4. Nicholas Singleton, RB, Penn St.

  5. Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio St. via Ole Miss

  6. Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama

  7. Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL) via Washington State

  8. Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio St.

  9. TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio St.

  10. Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas via Alabama

  11. Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford

  12. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Tank Bigsby PSLate Night Ramble while Prepping Post

When it comes to controversial players, if you’re someone like me you never really feel like you’ve said enough. Bigsby is extremely controversial, and someone I might be wrong on. But I also have to acknowledge that in this game of Fantasy Football, particularly in Dynasty, we preach and preach and preach about talent over situation, but so many arguments right now against Bigsby come down to situation. On top of that, I’ve already seen the thumbing noses at people who react and buy-in quickly. Once again, I may be wrong. And I am also not suggesting that what I am about to say has always been the case. However, I can tell you definitively that every single one of the best calls of my life had a disproportionate amount of people thinking I was stupid. I like people thinking I’m stupid when I’m being reactive. In 2016 I found my love for Buying High. Four games into the 2016 MLB season, I texted my co-manager that Justin Verlander was back, and that we had to move quickly so that the other manager would see us as a pair of overactive morons trying to add a big name. He was the best pitcher for the rest of the season. Last year, the time I was most frequently called stupid was when I suggested that Nico Collins should be valued over 1st Round Picks like Quentin Johnston and Zay Flowers after two weeks. I hesitate to even mention these examples because the comparison here to Tank Bigsby is unfair, and he could very much be a failure, but you don’t get to make a bad call in an uncontroversial environment. The fact of the matter is that being reactive is one of your best ways to beat the market. If you wait for the market to react, you’re moving on better information, but you’re not able to reap such a great benefit. As long as you manage the risk of loss, the reward of those benefits can be league winning. Too many people are obsessed with this dynamic on whether Bigsby is better than Etienne, and that is a super important question. But forced to answer, I would suggest that both players are top 20 RBs in the NFL. The fact that Jacksonville has two is inconvenient, but my favorite buys in Dynasty are buys when you can target someone who is flashing something special without having to pay the special price. Today, with Bigsby, that price has not hit. I know last year and even 2021-2022 were struggles for Bigsby compared to his 2020 Freshman breakout, but the talent has always been there. The way I said it on Twitter/X is prone to controversy and interpretation itself, but I believe when players loudly tell you who they are, you need to listen. Bigsby is telling us something right now, and we need to listen.
